The dates for CANDISC in 2010 are July 31 through Aug. 7. Planners are currently looking to northwest North Dakota for a route. More later.

The Far East Tour 2009

CANDISC Tour August 1-8, 2009, the "Far East" tour is a 426 mile loop of eastern North Dakota that will explore the picturesque haunts of legendary Sitting Bull and the Dakota Territory frontier army between Lake Sakakawea and Devils Lake. Cyclists will visit Fort Totten, the most complete original military fort west of the Mississippi, and the Fort Stevenson Guard House. Experience the 1800s era. CANDISC offers wome of the greatest unspoiled frontier in North America as you breath the cleanest air in the USA. Cycle the safest and friendliest state in the nation.

North Dakota Fishing

North Dakota's fishing is the best-kept secret in the outdoor world. It's two main fisheries, the Missouri River system (which includes Lake Sakakawea) and Devils Lake, are veritable fish hatcheries. Many smaller lakes, rivers, and streams produce an abundance of fishing opportunities.

The major fishing waters have a goodly number of public boat ramps and marinas/resorts that will satisfy the needs of the most ardent fisherman. Add to this a large number of fishing guides and inexpensive non-resident licenses and you have a setup ready-made for the non-resident angler.
